New Classrooms: Info Session

You may know that due to increased pupil numbers the school will need two new classrooms for next session. The only feasible place for them to be built is on the back playground, on the site of the current astroturf and the Trinity Theatre. The Parent Council has been working with Mrs Scott and the City of Edinburgh Council for the past year to feed back on the designs and the implications for the school . The plans are now nearly finalised and the Council would like to invite parents and carers to have a look at them and ask questions of the technical team. They will be in school for two sessions on Friday 22nd September:

Between 12 and 1 - come in before or after school pickup. Children welcome.
Between 6.30 and 7.30pm during Movie Night.

The plans will be left up in school for a week or so after the information sessions so if you are unable to come in at those times and dates then please take a look later. We will also be able to send out the plans digitally. If you have questions or comments at this point then please contact me at the email below and I will forward them.
As you can imagine, the classrooms will have a big impact on the outdoor space available for the children and will mean that the Trinity Theatre and Fort will need to be taken down, as well as the loss of the astroturf area, which was paid for by the PSA. The Parent Council is working to make sure that the facilities are replaced as part of the project and would also like to explore extending the school boundary into Victoria Park. It would be very helpful if you could raise these points with the technical team at the sessions - we need to demonstrate the strength of feeling on these issues so please do come along if you can.
