Ten easy ways to help - May Fair 2017

May Fair

The school's May Fair is our biggest fundraising event of the year. This year it will take place on Saturday 13 May from 11am to 2pm. To put on a community event of this size is no mean feat and we need around 100 volunteers to make it all happen. No matter how big or small, there are lots of ways you can play a part in raising valuable funds for our school.

Here are ten easy ways you can help make this year’s May Fair the best one ever!

1. Lend a hand (even for just an hour)

Can you donate your time to help on a stall, set up the event or run a game? Do you have any skills or equipment that we can use? We’re looking for hair stylers, BBQ-ers, musicians, beauty therapists, tattooists (temporary ones!) – anything you think could help raise funds, we’re open to all suggestions.

2. Donate a raffle prize
Do you know a business, organisation or individual that could donate a voucher or prize for our raffle? We’ll publicise donations on our website and Facebook page.

3. Bring any unwanted toys, books, CDs, vinyls or DVDs
Have a clear out and donate any of the above unwanted items for our popular nearly new stalls. Drop your donation off at school the night before the fair between 6pm and 9pm. We're also in need of co-ordinator for these stalls so please get in touch if you're able to help.

4. Bake a cake
Bake your favourite delight to sell on our famous cake stall. Simply bring your bakes along on the morning of the Fair before 11am.

5. Cook something for our world food stall
Can you create some delicious savoury snacks to take us on a culinary journey around the world? Our world food stall was a sell out last year with food from across the globe. Drop us a note if you can cook up a storm!

6. Recycle bikes and sport kits
Donate outgrown bikes or scooters to our nearly new bike sale by dropping them off at school the night before the fair between 6pm and 9pm. We're looking for nearly new sport kits too.

7. Bring along plants and herbs from your garden
We're running a plant and herb stall at the Fair. So if you have green fingers and would like to donate some plants, please drop them off at school the night before the Fair between 6pm and 9pm.

8. Donate a wee something for the tombola
Got any quality unwanted gifts, toys, alcohol or anything that would make a great tombola gift?  Just save it for the fair and bring along to school the night before between 6pm and 9pm.

9. Donate nearly new uniforms
Donate uniforms that have been outgrown so they can be sold on the day. These can be handed in to the office at any time.

10. Fill a jam jar
Pupils can dress down on Friday 5 May in exchange for bringing in a filled jam jar that we'll sell at the Fair. Look out for more details soon.

If you can help with any of the above, please contact us on trinityprimarypsa@gmail.com. And a huge thanks to everyone who has volunteered already.
